Celebrating the Champions of Correctional Education
The Arizona Correctional Educators Association welcomed correctional education professionals from across the state to the ACE 2026 Annual Symposium, held June 2–4, 2026, at the Ak-Chin Casino Resort.
Centered on the theme “We Are Champions of Change—Powered by Team Spirit,” the symposium recognized the educators, administrators, community partners, and correctional professionals who work together to transform lives through education.
Attendees gathered for three days of professional development, leadership, collaboration, and celebration while exchanging ideas and strengthening the partnerships that support students in correctional education programs

Day One Keynote
Lance Thonvold
Lance Thonvold drew from his experiences in sports, leadership, and coaching to emphasize the importance of trust, communication, role clarity, and working toward shared goals. His high-energy message reinforced how strong teams can remain aligned, execute under pressure, and celebrate the wins that move an organization forward.

Day Two Keynote
Baron Warren
Baron Warren delivered a bold and inspiring message centered on life, hope, accountability, and personal growth. His presentation challenged attendees to continue empowering young men through education, employment preparation, independent-living skills, mentorship, and standards for successful daily living.
